The situation, when the sound suddenly disappears into the windows, appears more often than we would like. I would have underlined two reasons for this problem: the sound disappeared after the reinstallation of Windows and the sound disappeared for no reason, although before.
In this article I will describe what to do in each of the two cases. These instructions will adapt to Windows 8.1, 8, 7 and XP.
If the sound disappeared after reinstalling the windows
In this, the most common cause, the reason for the disappearance of sound as a rule is associated with the driver of the sound plate. Although Windows «installed all drivers», the volume icon appears in the notification area and in the device manager: the audio plate is recognized, it does not mean that the drivers are installed correctly.
So, to have the sound after the operating system has been resisted, it would be good to use the following possibilities:
1. Desktop pc
If you know what the motherboard you have, download the audio driver for your model from the official website of the motherboard manufacturer (not for the audio face, that is, not from the sound chip website). Or, maybe you have the CD with the motherboard drivers, there you will find the sound driver.
If you don't know what you have the basic peace you have and how to find out, you can use the driver driver set with automatic installation. This method is useful for Desktop computers and I don't recommend using it on laptops. The most popular pack driver is the solution of the driver package, which you can download from the site drp.su.
2. Laptop
If the sound does not work after reinstalling the operating system on the laptop, the most correct resolution is to access the official website of the laptop manufacturer and download the driver for your model. If you don't know what the official address of your laptop site is, you can access one of the articles written by me in which I described Where can I download drivers for laptops.
If you have no sound and it is not associated with reinstalling
Now let's talk about the situation in which the sound has disappeared for no reason.
The correct connection and functionality of the speakers
To begin with, find out that the speakers and headphones, as before, are correctly connected to the audio plate, who knows: perhaps the animal has its opinion on the correct connection. In general, the speakers are connected to the green exit on the sound plate (it is not always the same). At the same time, check if the speakers work, otherwise you risk wasting time and not get the desired result (to verify that you can connect them as headphones).
Sound settings in Windows
The second thing you need to click on the speaker icon and select «Registration devices».
See which device is used to reproduce the sound. Maybe it's the exit HDMI And not the exit for the speakers, because you have connected the TV or something else to the computer.
If the speakers are used by default, choose them from the list, click on
«Property» and carefully analyze all cards, including the sound level, effects (it would be good to disable them, at least until the problem is solved) and other functions.
In addition, if you have installed a program on your computer to configure the functions of the audio plate, access and analyze all the functions, it is possible that the optical output can be set, while the speakers are connected.
Si Windows Audio device management
Start the device manager by pressing the keys Win+R and enter the command devmgmt.msc. Open the «audio, video and game controller card», click with the right button of the audio card name (in my case audio devie high definition), choose «properties» and see what is written in «state of the device».
If it is not written «this device works properly» (translated from English – the device works correctly), brought to the first part of this article, by the correct drivers for the sound after having reinstalled Windows.
Another possible reason. Access control panel – System and safety – Administrative tools – Services. The list finds «Windows Audio» and double click. On the field
The «type of start» must be set «automatically» and the service must be started.
Start of sound from the bios
And the last thing that came to mind: the integrated sound card can be deactivated by the Bios. Usually, the activation and deactivation of the components integrated in the BIOS are in the integrated peripheral settings or in the configuration of on -board devices. You should find something that is related to audio and make sure it is activated (qualified).
