Microsoft Designer – This can be the new design tool with Microsoft AI

1. Microsoft Designer uses Ki

This is an online tool with which you can comfortably create your projects for invitations, greeting cards, flyers, posters or social media posts in the browser. What distinguishes Microsoft Designer from desktop publication programs (DTP) as Microsoft Publisher or Scus is the fact that Microsoft Designer uses artificial intelligence from the Openaai. This allows mechanical production of images from text descriptions. Microsoft has already presented the designer in October 2022 and presented the preview version in a blog post in May 2023.

2. From text to design

After accepting the Microsoft Designer website via Microsoft Edge and recorded with a Microsoft account, you can start immediately. The preview version is free. Next, Windows designer will be available for customers by subscription of Microsoft 365, previously Office 365.

3. Edit and save design

You can download finished projects by selecting the layout and then click the download button at the end of the page. Downloads are possible such as PNG, JPG and PDF, but they can also be detected in the notes and sent on a smartphone. If desired, the background can be saved transparently.

If you are not yet satisfied with the design or desire to make individual adjustments, click «Customize the design». The Microsoft designer therefore opens a eDitor with different strips and tools.

In the upper part you will find the level of zoom, arrows to reverse and repeat the actions, as well as the name of the current design. If you click on this name, you open a drop -down menu with which you can access the previous designs and with which you can change the size of the drawing.

The selection of the dimensions of the design varies different formats for social media posts up to the print in A4. But you can also set the size of your design.

In the left toolbar bar you can select other models, load multiple images, change the color pallets, insert the text or access images in cloud storage such as Google Drive, Dropbox or Google Photos, access to visual effects such as frames, shapes, photos, clips and even videos on many topics.

Royalty: The graphic offers have all been created through AI and can be used for free license in their projects.

The text tool offers many design options such as different characters, colors or guidelines. If you can't decide, the «Inspire me» button suggests various layouts for the text

For all the elements of the editor, further filters and effects can be assigned and the brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness and color temperature can be set by selecting. Changes can be reversed through the cancellation arrows in the upper part.

On the actual side of the window, the designer shows a list alTerorniver Layouts an. The layout is adopted in the editor by clicking, but can also be reversed with the Cancel function.

To save and download the finished layout, click the download button at the top and you can get to the options for format, transparency and target device already described.

4. Conclusion

Microsoft Designer is fun and is easy to use. Since the user has the rights of use for the marketing of images, it can also be easily used on its website or social media. However, Microsoft Designer is not a complete replacement for DTP software.
