Since all the best laptops have exceeded the acceptable price, my evaluation will build it as follows: at the beginning of the Index (from my point of view) for different tasks: everyday use, games, mobile work, without taking into account the price. So I will write on those, which will be optimal for a concrete budget: up to 1000 she, 1000-2000 and 2000-3000 she (if you have more, you can choose from the first part of the evaluation).

Since we are still at the beginning of the year and this year I expect the launch of Windows 10 and Intel Skylake processors, which together can offer a rather interesting device, this evaluation will be updated later, so if you don't need it at this time and you will not need 6-10 months, the upper part of the laptops will change.

MacBook Air 13 and XPS 13 2015 – The best for most activities

MacBook Air 2015 YES 2014

This laptop has not had significant changes in the last three years and still remains one of the best for the usual user and not only using OS X, but also Windows, installed in the Boot Camp.

The MacBook Air will adapt practically anything, working with documents and photos, coding and entertainment. And, for those who do not know, this laptop offers 10-12 hours of operation from the battery.

Some could say that the features are not enough for games, but not: introduce the Intel HD 5000 game phrase (for the 2014 model) or Intel HD 6000 gaming (for MacBook Air 2015) to youtube and you will see the performance of the video card.

A few days ago Apple announced that the Macbook Air 2015 is equipped with Intel Broadwei Processor and the SSD operation in 13 -inch models will double.

I should note that by purchasing the 2014 model now, you will be able to save, without losing the technical characteristics.

And the 12 -inch MacBook with retina display? – Some will ask. I will talk about this product at the end of the article.

By XPS 13 2015

The Dell XPS 13 this year with the Broadwell and Windows 8.1 processors have not yet arrived in Romania (soon it will arrive). But according to what is said on the internet, this laptop can be called one of the best.

XPS 13 is more expensive than the MacBook Air 13 (in Romania), has a lower size to the same diagonal of the screen, the battery life is smaller (about 7 hours), in Scib offers a wide range of configurations, including 3200 × 1800 pixels (or you can only full HD without sensor).

This article is not a complete revision of each laptop, yet I will mention that it is equipped with carbon fiber housing, comfortable keyboard and large and well functioning touchpad.

Another advantage of the Dell laptop can be Windows's availability without Windows (with Linux), as the previous XPS 13 Developer Edition models have.

Best gaming laptop

If I write about the best gaming laptops, such as:

• Gigabyte p37x (he hasn't reached the sale yet but I think soon)
• Dell alienware 17

And to see their price (15-20000 she) there is a discomfort and a doubt in the meaning of these recommendations. It is the same that I would recommend Mac Pro as a good PC for the house. So I will write much more real laptops for games, when we reach the budget.

And in the meantime you can admire. So, the best laptop for the game MSI GT80 2qe Titan SLI – Core i7 4980hq processor, two Getx 980m video cards, 18.5 -inch Full HD (today the highest resolution for games is a disadvantage that a disadvantage), the disadvantage that you can find yourself.

MacBook Pro 15 with retina display – the best laptop for work (serious work)

Under the laptop for work I involve a mobile workstation, which you can easily mount videos, use CAD applications, illustrate and retouch and anything else. If the work involves the use of Word, Excel and browser, any laptop will adapt.

And here I think that the MacBook Pro 15 with the Retina screen, even if it has not yet received the fifth generation processor and the new touchpad (unlike the 13 -inch 2015 model), but which still has very strong characteristics: performance, screen, safety and battery life.

Transformers laptop

Now on the laptops, which can be tablet and tablet, which can be used as a laptop. Here I would indicate Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro and Asus Transformer T300chi as the best representatives of the category.

The second is not a laptop, but it can be used with a keyboard. Both have good and decent performance in Windows 8.1 and excellent test results. For me, the value of these devices, as well as safety or comfort during use, are questionable, although many appreciate these devices.

Laptop based on the budget

The time has come to switch to human laptops (normal), which are purchased by most of us, are not willing to give the cost of a car for a device, which becomes much faster than cars. Let's start.

Laptop with a budget of 1000 she

At this price you don't have much to buy. You can choose a 11 -inch or 14 -inch Netbook laptop for school (students and high schools) and office work.

From the first they may recommend the satellite Toshiba CL10-B-100. It is a normal laptop, but unlike similar offers is equated to Microsoft Windows 8.1 System.

Of the 14 inches I would probably recommend the Asus X451MAV-VX297D in configuration without operating system with the Celeron N2480 processor, which can be found at the specified price.

Laptop with a budget up to 2000 she

One of the best laptops in this category, in my opinion, is the Asus X555LD-XX062D with Haswell Core i3, 4 GB of RAM and a weight of only 2.3 kg.

If you need laptop with the operating system, you can choose Lenovo Ideapad G50-45, with the configuration of the A8-6410 and Windows 8.1 AMD operating system.

Laptop with a budget up to 3000 she

I will probably start with the cheapest model, i.e. the satellite model Toshiba L50-B-2CP-A of Toshiba, battery life up to 6 hours and with a weight of only 2.2 kg.

The next laptop is Dell Inspiron 3542 with Intel Core i5 4210U, Windows 8.1 and the Nvidia GeForce 820m video card, which means that this laptop would adapt to the games.

But the most expensive in this category, I would also recommend Dell Inspiron 3542, only with Core i7 4510U, GeForce 840m 2 GB and 8 GB of RAM – will adapt very well to the games and for a rather serious job.

Additional

I want to analyze the need to update the laptop in early 2015 and the new MacBook, as I promised above.

First of all, I think that if the urgent need of the new laptop is missing, you can wait for the launch of skylake devices (which, as hypothesized, will be launched in the second half of the year) and Windows 10 (here it is not clear, there are rumors, which will be launched in autumn).

Why? First of all, Skylake will most likely increase autonomy, productivity and reduce the size of the devices. Secondly, what is worried, the usual user is better to buy it with that operating system, with which it will work in the future. Although the update on Windows 8 and 7 to 10 will be free, it is better that Windows 10 is set for your device.

And something on MacBook 2015 on Core M, with 12 -inch retina display and fans in the cooling system. Is it worth buying this device?

If you and without my advice advisors of Apple products, I will not be able to recommend something useful. And if you analyze the need for such purchase, you know that I am not completely clarified. Some of my thoughts:

• Lack of fans – very well, long ago I wait for something, dust – the main enemy of laptops.
• Weight and size – perfect, what we need.
• Autonomy – I promise well, obviously that MacBook Air is better.
• Screen. Retina. I don't know, it is really necessary for such a diagonal and the additional activity and energy consumption are justified because of this resolution – I don't really know what to say.
• Performance – From the beginning there are doubts. On the one hand, if we look at the yoga 3 Pro tests with similar specifications and the Core M processor, to perform the MacBook performance activities will be enough (for which there are no tests). On the other hand, the speed processing speed and video is twice smaller than 4 GB of RAM. And considering that these operations will often be governed in Turbo Boost, problems with battery life may occur.
• Price – A FE AS AY AY with 256 GB and 8 GB of RAM (is the basic configuration of the new MacBook).

In fact, for me the new MacBook would be useful to work, even if I doubt that you can test applications in the virtual car. In TMP that there would be no problems.
